​Central Vietnam has a wealth of culture and historic touring options as well as some of the country’s best scenery. Cycle from the former capital of Hue to the beachside resort town of Nha Trang stopping along the way in Hoi An, My Lai and Quy Nhon. Intersperse touring and cycling with refreshing swims off the Vietnamese coastline on this fun 10 day journey.

DAY 1: ARRIVE HUE (D)

Welcome to Hue. Upon arrival you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel. Hue is the former capital of Nguyen Dynasty and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.  Should you arrive in time, you will learn more about this charming and historic city with an easy cycling tour around the main sites. 
Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Hue.

DAY 2: HUE - LANG CO (B, L, D)

This morning, the cycling adventure begins with a ride along the coast from Hue to Lang Co fishing village. The road is flanked by sand dunes and palm trees with occasional mausoleums, pagodas and war memorials scattered about. Stop for lunch at a local café before continuing the ride along small back roads through fishing villages and Cau Hai lagoon to Lang Co Beach. Overnight in Lang Co.

DAY 3: LANG CO - HOI AN (B, L, D)

Today is one of the most intense rides of the trip as you conquer Hai Van Pass, the highest pass in Central Vietnam. Warm up with a short, flat ride from the hotel to the base of the pass before the 10kilometer ride up, gaining an elevation of 550 meters. The views of the coast is  spectacular from the top and make a great reward for your hard work. 

Cruise downhill to Danang City, a further 9 kilometers, for lunch. Continue towards Marbel Mountain and My Khe Beach where you can freshen up with a swim in the ocean. Finally reach Hoi An late this afternoon and relax with a stroll through the quiet streets of this historic town. Overnight in Hoi An.

DAY 4: HOI AN - MY SON - HOI AN (B, L, D)

Today’s journey is a fabulous ride out to My Son, the ancient centre of Cham civilization. Transfer a bit out of town to avoid the highway before cycling along scenic country back roads, rice paddy fields, eucalyptus forest and many picturesque villages. The meandering road eventually leads us to My Son, once Champa’s greatest city and now an impressive archaeological site. 

Enjoy lunch near the temples and spend the afternoon touring around the crumbling temples before transferring back to Hoi An by bus. Overnight in Hoi An.

DAY 5: HOI AN - MY LAI - SA HUYNH (B, L, D)

This morning, transfer from Hoi An toward Quang Ngai for the start of today’s ride. The road is shaded by arching palm trees and surrounded by tended rice paddies as you cruise toward My Lai, the site of one of the worst massacres of the American/Vietnam War. After lunch, take a sobering guided tour of the site and museum, and then continue your ride through the Vietnamese countryside to visit a traditional pagoda. Continue clycling toward Sa Huynh for a chance to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner. Overnight in Sa Huynh.

DAY 6: SA HUYNH - QUY NHON (B, L, D)

Depart early today for the  110 kilometers journey to Qui Nhon, an American port and supply centre during the Vietnam War which sheltered thousands of Vietnamese fleeing the vicious bombing of the countryside. Ride southeast along the coast pass Thi Nai bridge and pedal along tranquil roads rarely visited by tourists until arrive the hotel in Quy Nhon. Enjoy time on the beach this afternoon to relax tired muscles. Overnight in Quy Nhon

DAY 7: QUY NHON - TUY HOA (B, L, D)

After a short shuttle out of town to avoid the main highway, begin today’s ride at Dieu Tri. Pedal along a remote but well surfaced road running alongside the railway through rolling terrain. Pass many Vietnamese and ethnic minority villages on the way for a glimpse of traditional countryside life as you make your way southwards. Loop back toward the main highway where you will have the option of cycling or transferring by vehicle the final hour to Tuy Hoa. Overnight in Tuy Hoa.

DAY 8: TUY HOA - WHALE ISLAND (B, L, D)

Today is the last cycling day and perhaps the most memorable. Depart from the hotel for a 20 kilometer ride past a network of lush rice fields which blanket the valley. Ride 3.4 kilometers up over a pass and descend down to stunning Dai Lanh Beach where you will stop for a swim and some snacks. 

Continue pedaling along the coast for 3 kilometers and then turn on to the Hon Gom peninsular road for the final 20 kilometers. Walk a short distance through a local fishing village to the awaiting a speedboat which will transfer you to tranquil Whale Island for two nights of relaxation. Overnight on Whale Island.

DAY 9: WHALE ISLAND (B, D)

Today is free to explore the Whale Island, relax on the beach, or take advantage of the snorkeling and Scuba diving opportunities. This evening, enjoy a delicious seafood farewell dinner. Overnight on Whale Island.

DAY 10: WHALE ISLAND - NHA TRANG - DEPARTURE (B)

Transfer back to the mainland this morning and on to the airport or train station for your onward connection. Or book additional nights at Whale Island or Nha Trang for a few more days on the beach.

2. CAN I POSTPONE OR CANCEL  MY TRIP? 
All purchases are final and you will need to agree with our term & conditions before confirming your order. In some cases, your booking will be cancelled or postponed for a future day.  However, if you need to cancel within 14 days we may state in our conditions that we will charge cancellation fees. 

3. IF I PURCHASE A PACKAGES, CAN I TRAVEL IN REVERSE DIRECTION?
Yes, our packages are made up on individual travel vouchers, which can be use in any order.  You may want to travel our intineraries in reverse or you may want to complete your package over a number of short trip. 

4. DO YOU OFFER LONGER OR MORE CUSTOMIZE TOUR? 
Yes, you can ask for longer or customize with any tours. If you have any request or questions please do not hesitate to contact us via email address: info@amitysmiletravel.com, our travel experts will help you decides which is best itinerary for you.

5. I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS – WILL THEY BE CATERED FOR?
We will try our best to accommodate all dietary requirements but in some out-of-the-way places it can be very difficult to guarantee. We will let you know if there are places on your itinerary where this is the case. Please let us know at the time of booking of any food requirements or allergies and we will pass the information onto your leader. It is also a great idea to bring a card with your dietary requirements written in local language for those time you are eating away from the group.

6. WHAT IS THE CURRENCY IN MY DESTINATION?
It is a good idea to travel with a credit card and ATM card. In Vietnam, the US Dollars and Euros are more widely accepted than other currencies (off course, out of VN Dong). However, in some cases, at some hotels they can accept your local currency but not very much. 

7.  WHAT STANDARD OF ACCOMMODATION SHOULD I EXPECT?

9. WHAT IS AN EXTRA COST?
An extra cost is something you will pay direct to the tour or hotel upon arrival. Or, something is mentioned in NOT INCLUDED.  Most of Amity Smile trips are “All Clusive” meaning no extra fees will need to be paid. 

10. HOW DO I KNOW  MY RESERVATION IS CONFIRMED?
After you make an online booking, we will follow up with you to confirm availability and confirm the booking.  Your reservation is not confirmed until receive this follow up email or fax. 

11. CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO THE ITINERARY  OF MY GROUP TRIP, EITHER BEFORE OR DURING THE TRIP?
Please make sure that you are happy with your group trip itinerary before booking because we are unable to change them for individual travelers. However, if you and a group of friends, colleagues,…would like your own personally designed itinerary, get in touch with our travel consultants, they can tailor an itinerary just for you.

12.IN CASE OF EMERGENCY ON TOUR, WHO WILL I CONTACT?
When on tour, your tour guide is the first person of contact. We have our own hotline,  so emergency assistance is available 24hours per day. Please see the office contact details listed on your itinerary or on your voucher. 

13. I AM NOT READY TO BOOK RIGHT NOW,  WHAT SHOULD I DO?
For flights, you can make a booking and then we can hold the booking for a limited period of time until you are ready to purchase and issue the ticket. When you make a booking, we will inform you of the amount of time until the ticket must be issued since this time frame varies by airline.
For hotels, in order to make a booking and hold a room, you must confirm and pay immediately. Unfortunately, we cannot hold a hotel booking for you without payment.
For tours, as tours are related to hotels booking. We will need you 30% for Deposit. This amount is to cover our costs if you cancel the tour. Almost is for cancellation charges of hotels/resorts.

- Bike ($120/bike/trip), helmet, 1 biking water bottle per person
- Plenty of water provided throughout the day when cycling
- Snacks and local fruits
- Adventure Certified English Speaking Guide
- 1 assistant guide for  8-16 cyclist, 2 assistant guides for 16+ cyclists
- 1 first aid kit per guide
- Each guide will have a full set of travel bike tools
- Main support vehicle will have spare parts
- Meals as mentioned in the itinerary (B – Breakfast, L – Lunch, D – Dinner)
- Sightseeing tickets where mentioned in the itinerary.

- We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance (covering emergency medical evacuation) for trips to Vietnam.
- Prices are valid 30 days from date of offer. Past this date price and conditions may be readjusted.
- The cost of air tickets is subject to change without prior notice by the airlines.
- Reservations during peak times (Christmas, New Year, Vietnamese Lunar New Year, National Holidays) may be subject to supplementary charges.
- Rooms at hotels are available only from 1400 on arrival day till 1200 on departure date. A supplement will be added if early check-in or late check-out is desired.
